At least once a semester, we will have the opportunity to work with a guest instructor in the setting of a masterclass.
This will involve meeting as a group and observing one another's mini-coachings to gain experience in informal performance and to learn from watching and supporting each other.
Attendance is expected at all scheduled coachings, masterclasses, and performances. An absence by one group member prevents all members from progressing. In the case that an absence is absolutely necessary, please notify the coach and director at least one week in advance of the absence. Frequent absences by the same ensemble member may result in discontinuation in the program.
We have two weeks dedicated to student-led rehearsals, or makeups, if necessary. Coaches are not obligated to make up more than two missed coachings, with the exception of inclement weather.
Payments can be made through PayPal, or check made to “Triangle Chamber Academy.” Please do NOT submit checks to your coach. A mailing address will be provided on your invoice. Invoices more than 10 days overdue will be subject to a $20 late fee. Credits are only issued if your teacher cannot reschedule a lesson, and must be approved by James Rice in advance of the absence. There will be no refunds for advance payments if a student stops lessons before the end of a session, except in the case of serious illness or a major family emergency.
